The International Technology Conference Mindtrek will again be held in Tampere, Finland on 10th-11th of October, 2018 – already for the 22nd time! This year the Finnish EduCloud Alliance and its networks have been involved in creating the program for a special EdTech-Track that is focused on future educational technology combined with Finnish pedagogical approach.
Mindtrek is all about networking and exchanging ideas with people who come from different backgrounds and who have different areas of expertise. Mindtrek brings together companies and organizations, representatives of the public sector, the academic world, students, rising start-ups, and a wide range of experts and decision-makers from various sectors of technology. The themes for this years conference are open source, open data, smart city and eHealth solutions , virtual reality, and educational technologies. Mindtrek is an excellent platform to network beyond industry boundaries, and to learn about current and rising topics in the field of future technologies and get inspired. This year the conference program will consists of the following themed events: Open World, Smart City, eHealth, Immersive Tech, EdTech and Academic Mindtrek. The extensive conference program will surely provide each participant with interesting and relevant content on both conference days.
For the first time this year, Mindtrek will have a track dedicated to EdTech. For the EdTech-track Mindtrek is partnering up with the Future Education Forum that is organized by the Finnish Education Learning and Development Center and the City of Tampere. Mindtrek will a part of the Future Education Forum agenda that is bringing Chinese educators interested in the Finnish educational system to Tampere to learn and hear how Finland is utilizing the newest technological developments in education combined with the world renowned Finnish pedagogical approach. The EdTech-track has also attracted the attention of Chinese investors interested in EdTech startups.
On the EdTech stage you will be seeing speeches from interesting Finnish EdTech startups such as Claned, TeacherGaming, Utelias Technologies & Elias robot, as well as well known experts like Peter Vesterbacka (Co-founder at Lightneer, & Fun Academy, Formerly Mighty Eagle at Angry Birds) and Teemu Leinonen (Associate Professor of New Media Design and Learning at the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture).
